On second viewing, I noticed small moments that I didn't realise beforehand, which is emphasised by the ending of the narrative, for example the shot of the alien in the abstract background which is blended. We are unaware of what this creature is (I don't remember watching the scene). It also makes us more aware of the moments of change within The Female, pinpointing specific changes such as her awareness of the second baby which is inside the car, after leaving the baby alone on the beach.
